CAVR deployed six staff and contractors from the US, the UK, Papua New Guinea, Thailand and Australia to mount national workshops on the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) and the UN small arms Programme of Action (UNPoA) in Fiji and the Solomon Islands for an UNSCAR grant, at the same time visiting ArmsTracker installations in the region. The workshops were aimed at building a broader base of understanding and knowledge, strengthening inter-agency coordination systems, supporting data collection, compiling annual reports, and identifying the key pillars of an emerging national action plan for ATT implementation.
